Udyam Registration - Important Information

As per the notification announced by the GOVERNMENT OF INDIA on 26th June, MSME Registration previously known as Udyog Aadhaar Registration will now be known as Udyam Registration. The government has announced these to make ease of doing business for the entrepreneur who wants to establish their enterprise.

The main motive for doing this is to enhance the capability of newbie entrepreneurs to initiate “Atma Nirbhar Bharat”. The new online Udyam registration has been made available from 1st July 2020.

Process Of Udyam Registration At Government portal

• The new registration process for MSME / Udyam can be done online at the Government portal.
• The process will be completely based on self-declaration and paperless. Any requirement to upload documents, papers, certificates or proof will not be needed anymore
• For registration, an Aadhaar Number will be required.
• After successful registration of MSME under such portal, Udyam Registration Number will be allotted and Udyam Registration Certificate will be issued details about the enterprise can be accessed by the Udyam Registration Certificate which will have a dynamic QR Code.
• Renewal of Registration will not be needed anymore
• Information about expenditure and company turnover will be taken automatically from the respective government databases as the PAN and GST are connected.
• The new online system of the Ministry will be fully incorporated with Income Tax and GST IN systems.
• Those entrepreneurs who have EM-II or UAM registration or any other registration issued by any authority under the Ministry of MSME will also have to re-register themselves under this new portal.
• According to this notification, all enterprises registered till 30th June 2020, shall be re-classified as Udyam.
• The existing enterprises which are already registered before 30th June 2020, shall continue to be valid only for a period up to the 31st day of March 2021.
• Udyam Registration cannot be filed more than once by any enterprise. However, any number of activities including manufacturing or service or both may be specified or added in one Registration.
• The government’s assistance mechanism in the name of ‘Single Window Systems’ at Champions Control Rooms will encourage the registration process and handholding of MSMEs and DICs will act as ‘Single Window Facilitation Systems’ and help individuals in their Districts.
• Udyam Registration will not be charged under any fee.
